• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Yeah yeah yeah... I know, use a flat table when bending the rudder. I DID ! It just wasn't a long enough table. Duh !

Here's a picture of my bending jig. Note how close it is to the end of the table. THAT's a no-no. I thought the 15 or 20" on the table would be reference enough for me to keep the tubing straight. NOT ! For those not in the know... you need to have a sizable amount of table on either side of the jig, say, 60 inches. Once I bent the tubing and moved it along the jig it was hanging off the end of the table. I was so fixated with bending the tubing to match mypattern and keeping it flat on the table.... I just didn't think it ALL the way through. STUPID !

If you're determined to do it like I did, the first time, you'll end up with this. Nice for making left-hand turns with your feet on the floor.

I always wanted a nice expensive set of wind chimes for the back...
