In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

The picture attached is the rear spar attach bracket on a Skybolt Delta Wing. This is also almost exactly the same as the rear spar attach bracket on a Pitts Model 12.

Question..... What are you doing with metal protection in the area that sits on the inside of the 3/4" bushing hole? I have used a 3/4" reamer through the spar attach brackets and am very happy with the quality of the hole all the way through the spar. But it using the reamer, given the very precise size of the hole and the bushing outer dimension, paint is removed from the inside of the attach bracket and there is no room for paint on the bushing itself. See highlighted part in the picture. What are you all doing to protect the metal in locations like this??
