The airplane is in Africa? Priced at least $100,000 below value? Including shipping anywhere in the world? It just doesn't add up!

I talked with the guy, you are going to end up with a plane in a box, as is/where is and then it is up to you to convince the FEDs to let you fly a foreign homebuilt.

I don't buy planes in a box... Only flying airplanes... I don't want to work on anything. My buddy already is in the middle of buying this plane, its probably a done deal already?
We bought a Stearman today :D

That spec sheet says it is serial number 4. That is not correct. It was the 4th to fly but serial number 4 belongs to someone else. I don't recall the serial number of this one but Neil Forsyth, the original owner, bought plans very early. If you look on 2wings, you can see photos of the fuselage one the gear with metal and canopy fitted, etc. His parts were in the first batch of 12 we built. I took those photos since we got the fuselage to that point before putting it in a container and shipping it to South Africa. He already had the wings built by that time. Also notice in the photos there is another Model 12 in the background in my hangar. That is our first one, N360KJ aka N360KC before it flew. In fact, at the time of these photos, only the prototype N80XP had flown. Soon after, Ben Morphew flew his in Feb 99 and we flew 360KJ in March 99.

Are the round wingtips per plans or a builder mod? Is this common on the early 12s?

The plans built wings are longer with round wingtips and wood ailerons.
