It was long ago in 1977 when I got checked out in an S2A. The pilot instructing me was a highly respected competition and airshow pilot in the Phoenix area. His name was Walt Tubb. I only flew with him 3 times to prep for flying my newly acquired S1S home from Florida to AZ.
