• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I just hate to see this sort of thing, at least the pilot survived, although another airplane is gone probably never to fly again. We all wish you the best Gary. Dave

N503CM is no more. I had an accident on Friday while approaching to land over trees and ended up in the trees then dropping about 100ft to ground level where I was upside down and trapped. Hospital wing and four fire departments extricated me from the aircraft and I was flown to Regional 1 in Memphis. I have several fractured ribs, double fracture C7 vertebra, several facial bone fractures and a couple of bruises on my brain but I am now home albeit with a lot of out patient visits a coming up. I haven’t seen my beloved Starduster yet not any pictures but I am told by pilot and builder friends that she is a write off. FAA and NTSB are investigating and once they have concluded I’ll post an update with details of what I think happened. There are news reports on the internet - I think if you search light aircraft crash, Holly springs, Marshall County or similar you should find them. Cheers, Gary, N503CM.
