Since I now have a myriad of airplane photos, many of which I've never heard of, I figured to share them with the group.

And since many of you seem to enjoy challenges, why not make it a guessing game.

This first one was a surprise to me, but it also explained a military aircraft designation gap I wondered about.

    That was fast!

    I'll try again next week.

No clues next time John, just the photo. If we're stumped, then throw us a few hints.

St. Louis Street Car. Great airplane, too bad they weren't produced in great numbers.

Sorry! I missed that part. Still working on my reading skills. DeFord sold it and it was wrecked. Not sure if it has flown since.

    No hints this time...

Well, no one even tried this time around. Doesn't surprise me, it's a one off design.

    Back of the photos read:

    M.E. Westfall
    Oklahoma City, OKLA

Model A Ford converted to 60 LeBlond

    Watsonville CA
    May 1975

    Photos taken by David Gauthier.

Next airplane will be posted in a few days.

Says the designer was jailed by the CAA because of a crack down on homebuilt planes???

Not sure about the "CAA crackdown" comment (it is Wikipiedia...).

But for many years homebuilding was illegal in most States. This webpage has a fair synopsis: http://competitiveaviation.com/?p=95

This one may be a bit obscure, but I really like the lines.

Looks like a biplane version of the Arado 196, which is a monoplane....stumped.
