• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

When I bought my Starduster Too 6 years ago I knew it had 2 critical faults. The landing gear was 4 inches back and not straight, and the engine mount was only 19 inches long. After ground looping, I spent 2 years fixing the gear, wing and lots of other little problems. Now it is time to fix the engine mount and make it 7" longer to 26 ". After flying back to Oshkosh this summer with two people and baggage, I had the trim set at full nose down the entire way. Above 9,000 ft I had about 10-15 lbs of forward pressure on the stick yo keep it level. Well time to fix the c.g. Once and for all. My friend and hanger mate works for Boeing as an engineer and built his Skybolt so is very talented. He is between jobs for a few months so he Said lets do it now. So tonite we took the whole front of the of the plane off. It took maybe 3 hours and was a lot easier than I thought. Let's see if my pictures and notes are as good on the reconstruction.
