    Hello All -

I purchased a Skybolt this past weekend. I am absolutely loving it so far. I've learned a lot already from reading the forum and I am sure I'll have a lot of questions in the future.

I haven't really taken any photos yet, so all I have right now is the one below. I'll try to get more photos soon.

Congratulations with your new airplane. Hope you will receive many years of enjoyment.

One day, my project will be over and I can start enjoying the other side of a Skybolt.

Congratulations! Hope that you have a good Skybolt experienced instructor to help you get comfortable flying her. I had 275 hours in a Super Cub which didn't help at all. I would suggest that you put your forearm on your leg and fly her with your finger tips as they (mine at least) are way more responsive than anything else most people have flown and can be easily over controlled until you get used to it.

I found an instructor first, then the airplane. He recommended the Skybolt. I've been flying his Decathlon for the past couple years. He has a fair amount of S-2B time plus a little Skybolt time, though mine was the first 540 Skybolt he had flown. Things are going well so far but I certainly have a lot to learn. I consider myself relatively conservative, so I'll definitely take it easy while I am still getting comfortable.

Sounds like a great plan.. aside from some “airplane snobs” I find the Skybolt very responsive and capable, not so squirrelly that it can never be trusted, though it will sure try you sometimes! I think of it as a mild mannered red headed stripper, I never really sleep well...
