New Transponder, No ADSB-OUT position message.

Just made my first flight with a new Trig cpdr with ADSB out. I got a no ADSB position message. I mounted the gps antenna in front of the windscreen under the cabane struts. My Eagle gas no wing tank so I figured the cabane struts would not block thenGPS signal. 5is may have been a poor choice. Has anyone had success with the antenna mounted as I have it?

I chose this spot mainly out of convenience. It was easy to mount and again, I figured the upper wing and cabanes would not block the signal.
