I’ve been trying to repaint the nose piece for my dad’s dragster. I’ve sprayed it twice and the finish came out pretty good but both times over the next two days it developed fine hairline cracks in the base.
I finally decided to just sand it down to the base fiberglass and learned it had about 7 coats of paint alternating between primer and base it looked like tree rings.
Could this be the cause of the cracking?
I’m using the same paints, equipment and procedures I used to paint my wheel pants and those came out pretty good. I told my dad I’ll just clear coat over the crack and he gets what he pays for....0$
