• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hello everyone,

I'm semi-retired now and am getting the bug to build something that flies once again.

I joined the EAA quite a while ago, sometime in 1973, and had been active with EAA chapter 249 in Greenville, SC before business took me to other locations, and away from active aircraft building.

Along the way I became an aircraft mechanic with the National Guard, both part and full time, maintaining helicopters, and learning a great deal about aircraft from the nuts and bolts point of view.

I remember very well the early reviews of the Acro Sport (called the I much later) in Air Progress and other aviation magazines, and although I've had brief thoughts on building something like an RV-6 or Lancair, the Acro Sport still held my fancy so to speak.

So, in a few months, I'll start the project.

Pat
