So gents,
I am soon to become a happy owner of Justin's O-360 "kit" he advertised here: http://www.biplaneforum.com/showthread.php?t=10594
The engine is completely apart. I won't be needing it for quite a few years to come, and it will sit stored inside my (airconditioned) house..
My thinking is that putting it together today just Makes No Sense, and preserving each individual piece is going to be much easier than pickling a complete engine.
Any advice on specific, very sticky, covering, and rust-preventing things to put on those pieces?
Airtight bags with grease in them for smaller parts?
Saran wrap greased / otherwise covered halves?
Silica gel?
"Moisture detectors" (the ones that turn a different color when used up)?
Am I overthinking as usual?
