I have flown N290DF, the PJ-260. It is owned by a local pilot/IA who hasn't flown it in awhile, but keeps it in great condition. Still for sale: $35,000. I have also flown the Liberty Sport N185L. I delivered it to Yerrington, NV, in the late 1990's.

The PJ is a single seater. Technically the two seater is a Senior Aero Sport. I followed the build of the second prototype and Ed Mahler's which I think was the third built. Most of the people involved are gone.
I did some of the welding on a Senior Aero which was built in NJ and later became Soucy "Big Butt Buster". That airplane was still active in AZ the last time I checked. One of these days I'll dig out some pictures. I used to have a photo of Ed cutting the ribbon at Sidney NY. Don't know if I still have it.

I saw John Lumley's PJ when it was being built, I was about 6 years old, then at Merced CA when I was a teen. It was destroyed in a crash in FL after he sold it.

Culp Special. Modified Skybolt with Russian engine. For sale on Barnstormers right now. What a gorgeous plane.

I ALMOST went with a Culp Special. Then I found the RangeDuster for sale. The Culp Special is a awesome plane. I’d love hear someone who’s flown one vs a Pitts model 12. I’m sure the Pitts is a better acro mount but I wonder how much more so. I just like the more “vintage” lines of the Culp.

85K sounds like a lot of money and it is....until you spend 7 to 10 years building it for 125. Thats a nice airplane.
