Here is the pitot/static head in question.
Picture 1 shows the pitot static head (left side of pic = front of plane)
Picture 2 shows the pitot hole on the front and the drain hole on the angled bottom
Picture 3 shows the tiny static hole on the back side.
The drain hole connects up with the static hole (not the pitot hole).
Since the static drain hole faces into the wind (on the angled surface), wouldn't it be causing an erroneously high static pressure? Or it is somehow compensated? If it is compensated, how would it compensate for varying angles of attack?
