• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

well my name is Chris im 20, and live in south florida.I've been interested in aviation since i was about 10, and the passion/addiction has only gotten stronger since then. Im currently studying for a degree in Aerospace engineering, although i still have about 3 years left on that. I've been interested in aerobatics for about the past 3 or 4 years, and since getting a ride in my friends extra 300 im hooked and its all i want to do (next is my other buddy's SU-29 :D). So being 20 and in college a pitts is about my best option at getting into a fully aerobatic ariplane that i can start competing in.
so now formy question,

how much does the average S1S cost per year, exlcuding fuel because that cost changes depending on wherei can get itand excludethe cost of the aircraft itslef. Im mainly looking for insurance and maintenance cost for a plane that will most likely be flown every weekend and possibly more.
