If I had some assurance this would fit my AcroSport II I'd be interested... the I-strut looks kinda similar but I'm not sure. Given it fits, I'd imagine I could bend as needed...

Might need to be quite a bit longer for the AS2.

It would be longer for a 2 seater. You can weld a longer tube, but for sure I think it is too short for AS2

A longer sight will require a diagonal support. That said, you don't exactly fly the sight. I have a sight like that one on my S-2A. I use it for verticals and 45's with the "star" above the horizon while doing vertical rolls.

The Russians train without sights, or with sights that are just sticks, and they win or place very high at the world level. You do not have to overthink your sight.

I used only a long wire for verticals and judged the 45's from that wire. Seemed to work OK back in the old days.

3.372" x 1.429" (2.5" ER) for the S-1S and the S-1C (1967).
