• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Willing to pay top dollar for a solid Pitts with the following:

  • Clean logs and documents (AROW, 8130s, etc)
  • Good paint and fabric.
  • Tight hardware (brackets, bearings, etc). You guys all know the common sore spots on the S1. Aileron brackets, torque tube bearings, elevator halves.
  • Low engine time SMOH and Calendar (prefer parallel valve 360).
  • ADS-B compliant (with clean ADS-B perf report….see item 1 above)

Your aircraft doesn’t meet these specs? No problem. I will absolutely consider a Pitts that doesn’t meet all of the criteria above, but am not interested in paying top dollar for marginal or mediocre.

Pitt S1-S, S1-T or Ultimate are first choices, but might consider the right 1D, or Laser.

Projects, (flying or otherwise), the tired, the neglected, the abandoned also considered. Email/DM best way to get started. Thanks!
