    So the forum each comes from is shown under the Thread title on the mobile version so those that use mobile can see what forum each thread comes from.

    I'm using a laptop or a desktop computer, Win7 and Firefox. Here's what I'm seeing;

    BTW, I get the same thing using MSIE.

    Strange. With Win10 and Firefox, I don't get that. Since we both tried with Firefox, it must be the Win7. I think I have a laptop with Win7 on it. I'll give it a try and see what I can find out.

    I enquired on this a couple of posts back.
    I sent in an idea (like it used to be) and the other was the date ?

    Comments anyone?

    @taff here is what the style manager says.

    That's not really a column label - just a link to sort by the start date. That's the default XF behaviour:

    As to the forum a post is shown in, if we did that it would mess up the mobile app and viewing by mobile browser. See my views of each of those above.

    I see the mouseover balloon with Linux and Firefox 60.0.2. It takes a moment to appear, possibly 100 ms if I've found the right bit of the JS controlling it. I've seen it since day one with XF. It's less annoying than the vBulletin version (which popped up quicker, and was "durable" once it appeared), but I'd still rather not have it. Generally I know whether I want to look into a topic without the preview balloon. Since it only shows the content of the first post in the thread, it has very limited value for our threads that will frequently go on for months.

    Thanks Angie.
    I guess no big deal! Just a little different from the original format, that I will get used to.

    Larry said " I see the balloon when hovering with Win 10"

    Larry; the only thing hovering over me when using WINDOWS Freekin 10 is a big bad storm cloud!:mad:. It pee's me off!

    So the other week I purchased a new computer, of course the only way it comes is with the TEN (I should have got an Apple)
    I am still using the old computer with 8.
    Anyway between TEN and the new BPF format, I am having fun.
    BTW, with 8, I get the balloon inflating when I hover my little curser over the topic. but I have to squint to see the subject topic.

    What browser? I still cannot make it happen with Chrome or Firefox. Do you have pop ups turned off on your computers?

    To clarify what I'm doing, here are my steps, using Firefox on Linux:

    1. load up http://www.biplaneforum.com/
    2. click on NEW POSTS in the top banner
    3. hover the mouse over one of the resulting thread titles
    4. wait less than a second
    5. observe pop-up erecting itself and populating with the text from the first post - cwilliamrose's screenshots above show the same thing I'm seeing
    I do have pop-ups disabled, but re-enabling them doesn't change the behavior. These are not pop-up windows (ie, they don't open a new Firefox window with its own controls), they're basically fancy tooltips that open a new text frame in the existing window.

    There's a nice and potentially useful feature at the bottom of each thread reading screen. It lists new posts and you could go directly from the thread you're reading to a different thread except for one thing -- clicking on a thread in the list takes you to the first message in the thread. Could you put the little shortcut icon to the first unread message in that listing so we can make good use of it? You almost never want to go to the #1 message but going to the first unread message is a common choice. Right now I have to go back to the full New or Recent Posts listing to do that. It would look like this;

    Is there a way to flip the order on the post so the last post is at the top?

    Edited: Yes there is a way.

    Go to the bottom of a forum, and look for:

    upload_2018-6-15_11-51-44.png

    Then open it:

    upload_2018-6-15_11-52-23.png

    Go the the Descending Order, and drop down these choices. You will get Ascending order that you can choose. Use the Set Options button on the right to set the changes.

    Give that a try and see if it works for you. You'll have to set each forum that you want to see this way.

    Go to the threads below.
    To get to last post, click on the time under the name on the right side.
    That will take you to the last post.

    Which isn't always the same thing. The little icon tells you there are unseen posts in a given thread and takes to the first of those when you click it. Apparently adding the icon is non-trivial??
