Hi guys!

Well, moving right along on the ribs!

I have a question about the glue joint thickness on the plywood doublers on the spar. Let's say I have a spar of 3/4" and then I glue 1/8" plywood on it like it calls out on the plans. Do I need to add a little for the glue joint?

What i'm concerned about is having fitting problems once the plywood is glued on the spar.

What I was thinking was to slip a piece of paper on the spar blocks on the jig to hold the opening a few thousandths larger to compensate for the glue or any other variation.

I would hate to have to sand all the openings of the ribs after the fact.

Any ideas or input would be appreciated. I was also thinking that the ribs that are not the compression ones could actually afford to be slightly oversize so as not to interfere with the assembly once tightening the drag/anti drag wires.

Mike
