Hello,

First time on the forum, first time doing a fabric covering job. We have a Starduster 100 project that we are in the process of covering with Stewart Systems. Elevator is covered and have a question about rib stitching.

The “ribs” in the elevator are tubular. Additionally the 1/4” reinforcing tape is wider than the tube.

43.13-1B Shows flat rib caps in the lacing diagrams with reinforcing tape slightly narrower than the rib.

Have read elsewhere recommendations not to rib lace on tubular ribs, but looking at Dave Baxter’s project it appears that the lacing is done.

So, it looks like we should lace these, but is there a concern that the lace will draw the fabric down around the tube and possibly tear?

Also, should the lace hole be placed immediately next to the rib/tube (meaning penetrating the reinforcing tape) or place immediately beside the reinforcing tape?
