I am putting together a Frankenstein engine using a O-290 D2 case and O-320 crankshaft and cylinders. Have done quite a few modifications to the case (I am also using a O-320 cam, acc. case and sump). Got the lower end together and the rod bolts on # 1 hit the case at bottom dead center by about .050 . I have taken a burr and air grinder and trimmed the case, any input on how much clearance is needed in this area ??? The #2 rod bolts are close but don't make contact. Don't want a issue later, any advice.

Phil
