• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

For some reason Acroeric let me fly his IO-320 S-1C for a 2nd time today. Got to do some acro for the first time in it...well sloppy acro anyway. This airplane WILL fly Advanced - no doubt about that. This plane does have a different feel from my S-1S and would take a bit of practice to start flying clean. It spins smoother and steadier than mine...really locks in smooth after about a half rotation. Snaps good too. Would take a few more flights to nail those more cleanly. Without any critiquing I had a little trouble with the hammer timing, since it just doesn't seem to start torquing near the top like mine, even with the metal prop on this airplane. I think the long ailerons extend partially into the propwash, and this seems to make it less torque prone during hammers. From today- HD enabled. Thanks Eric
