In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Okay, sothis has been bothering me for the longest time, and I am about to make up a decal, so need it sorted once and for all.. so opening it up for discussion - please help.
Is is S1-SS or S-1SS ?

S1-SS - looks better balanced, and reads nicely.. S1 SuperStinker... right, but technically less correct than S-1SS as all the other's are S-1S or S-1C or S-1D etc.

The SS is not ust a modified S-1S with the stinker ailerons, as you can put a set of SS wings on a C fuselage and call it a SS.. but you can't really stick a pair of S wings on a C and call it an S, rather an E?

So .. it's probably not an agreed thing, but keen to suss out the general consensus from some knowledgable folk who woulda known what Curtis would'e called it?

Thanks
