The rigging on my aircraft was checked by Steve Wolf and found to be good before it was containerized for shipping. Steve made a gauge to help with tensioning using the 50lb fish scale method but I find it a little difficult to tell if we are accurate.
When pulling heavy (5-6) positive G, I can see the landing wires becoming a little slack. My mechanic and I tightened them about 1/4 turn but I did not notice a difference in flight. I don't have access to anybody locally with the expertise, but I know that you guys are awesome here.
I have a few questions:
1. Is this normal when approaching G limits and the right set up?
2. If I am increasing tension on landing wires will I also need to increase tension on flying wires to maintain proper rigging?
3. Are there any tricks to utilizing the fish scale method that would make it more accurate?
4. Those little nuts that are holding all of that force are a real bear to adjust. Any tips there?
