Well after 22 years of fun and much excitement I've finally had to part ways with beloved Pitts S-1T Serial #1024 - registered in Canada as C-GZRO and previously in the US as N200QB (quiet birdman).
I had a lot of help over the years from the initial purchase inspection by Mike Mays, all the training with guys like Bill Finnighan, Gerry Younger, and others.
She has now moved to Fredrickton N.B Canada. The new owner also went to Bill Finnighan ( a condition of the sale - something I recommend to all sellers of aerobatic planes).
Probably one of the most amazing experiences of my life owning this plane for so long and meeting many aerobatic and aviation enthusiasts over the years who treat you with far more respect than you deserve simply because you show up in a Pitts. And then there are the requests to fly unusual airplanes because people see you safely operating a Pitts year after year...
Anyway, If you are thinking of buying a Pitts ... hell yes do it.. life is short and while a Pitts is expensive and sometimes dangerous ,with proper training and skill both can be kept acceptable and the value they can bring to your life are hard to describe.
