Hello…….

I have just received news, via Aircraft Spruce, that the lighter, API tailwheel I ordered back in the fall of last year, will not be available. I kind of figured something was up when API wouldn’t return any of my emails, so guessing they are no longer in business.

I am still looking for a lighter alternative to my Scott 3200, as I would like to shed some weight from the tail, after installing the Sensinich carbon-fibre prop (last winter) and the e-mags (this winter). I am within the CG range for solo flying , but can only go for an hour flight with a warm body in the front seat, before I am too far aft.

I’m going to add a seperate battery, small 12v kind, which will offset the weight in the tail a bit, but would really like to replace the Scott. Would the experienced folks on the forum, have any suggestions as to where to look?

I know Matco, have some lighter wheels, but not really a fan of a single-arm tailwheel, hated the Maule on my Canuck and don’t really want to go that route again.

Food for thought

Cheers
