Did all of you Pitts drivers get the service bulletin on the flop tube in the gas tank? It requires compliance (replace the flop tube) before the next flight!
The background wording is kind of vague with problems noted on those flop tubes made in the last 5 years. So if your plane is 6 years old, no problem, right? That is wishfull thinking, as I called Aviat (7-24-08)and they said all Pitts S1 and S2 aircraft are affected.
Price for the hose alone is $99.62 and the entire assy is $204.17. They say it is easy to get the weight and fitting off of the old hose and attach it to the new one.Aviatis currently out of stock on the assembly anyway, so all you can get without a wait is the hose. We're Hosed.
