The original plans call for a 3/8 piece of tubing to be welded veritically at station 137 to allow ground adjustment of incidence on Horiz stab. I saw somewhere that some similar planes have been built where the tubes are boxed in to beef up the area. I have never heard of a failure at that point. Anyone seen anythiing more beefy than Lamar's drawings? Any known failures or problems at this location? What have others done? Thoughts?
