The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Guys, I'm a new member to the forum so pardon all the questions. I am considering a mostly complete Skybolt project. Apparently it was started about 20 years ago and is mostly complete. I'm thinking about looking at it. My question is: What do I look for? Glue joints, welding, builders log etc. Should I take my local EAA Technical advisor along. Sounds like the project need some TLC but I want to make sure it is of quality construction. Also, I would imagine it was constructed with the old gear, if so should I build the new gear as per the newer plans?

Thanks for the help
