The plans show a slave strut bracket made of .120 4130 with a 3/4" offset using 3/8" radius bends.
In the manual from Steen (I believe was written by Hale), there is a correction note that says the offset should be 3/8" instead of 3/4".
In the often questionable direction written by McKenzie in the April 77 Skybolt Newsletter, he says the offset needs to be 13/16" to avoid clearance issues with the aileron hinge.
Could someone check to see if it looks like a 3/8" offset will work? Also if anyone (Beej) has the brackets purchased from Steen, could you check to see what the offset is on the set they sell?
Our SS aileron hardware is close enough in design that whatever works for the Friese ailerons will work for us.
cheers,
Jim
