Hi all,
I'm interested in potentially placing slave struts inside the inter-plane struts on my Pitts project.
I read first of DanMcGarry using them on his S2A, N8028. Others have also made the change using a full push pull or torque tube setup on Pitts and Skybolts.
I suspect standard interplane struts will provide less potential aileron play, or slop, minimise flutter risk, assist with balance, and if located externally behind the I-struts, ultimately minimum drag. I am also aware of the vibration issues, root causes and fixes.
What is the history on this internal modification?
Is anyone on this forum flying this mod?
Is there any detail available on successful installations?
Cheers
