Hello,

I am new to the forum and new to my Skybolt and bi-planes in general. I have built a RV-7 and done a ground up restoration of a Cessna 182 A model but I am in awe of you guys who build from plans. Hoping I can get some direction.

The sliding action on my slider canopy started degrading. I will confess that I did not see the entire issue all at once and am still in discovery mode. The left side was binding and the issue seemed to be the ball bearing races traveled beyond the rear stop (both upper and lower). Several ball bearings had departed in each race, hence the binding. I installed ball bearing in the missing spaces and tapped the races into place forward of the stop. I have no idea how the races ever went past the stop or when it happened. In any case, the canopy functions much better now.

My issue is that the right side of the canopy, the side with the smooth action, does not have either race in place at all? Are these races a part I can order? If I need to make them, couple someone pass on the material thickness and type of metal? Any words of wisdom are welcome as well. Thanks for your help.
