• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I am looking for a small GPS, something other than GARMIN! I have no love for GARMIN! I do not want anything made by GARMIN! We currently have Lowrance GPs in both of our Stardusters, but Garmin has bought out trashed or run just about every other GPS manufacture out of busines including Lorance! I had an old Eagle that was made for hiking back packing and sail boating it was a back up that had the ability for 200 user installed way points which were installed in the unit, unfortunately the internal battery died, and all of the way point information is gone. I had planned on using it in the SA-100

So I am looking for something else to replace it with that is more modern with a data base and moving map, a small unit that will fit in a small single cockpit airplane. And their are very few left to choose from?

I am looking at the I Fly 740B but I have a Samsung pad with the Avair aviation program installed that works okay, but it is 7" like the 740B and is a bit to big for my cockpit the next best thing price wise and available seems to be the I Fly 520 so my question is does anyone have this unit and if so what has been your experience using it, any thoughts or ideas other than GARMIN! Which leaves few choices would be much apappreciated Dave
