• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I just got in my tubing for the fuselage today. Still need to take inventory of it.

The standard version has been out there since 1969. We know what to be on the lookout for and what changes should be made to it to improve ergonomics and problems with it interfering with other components.

The R Version hasn't been "time tested" and a few of us on thefront line of building it can pave the road smooth for those to follow. Well, maybe not smooth, but we can help you avoid some of those pot holes.

I know that Pelican (Dennis) has his fuselage pretty much tacked and I think welded up. Anyone else out there working on the R Version ? Anything Pelican or anyone else can add to this thread would be much appreciated.

I'd be happy to see a few pictures of a welded up R fuselage. : )

I'll add anything I can as I go through the process of cutting the tubing and welding it up.
