• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Guys,

The latest single seat Model 12 has left Zellwood. Ti-12 is the name of this one and Karl Engelke is the owner. He left today with it headed north and has it on a stay near Atlanta now while he waits for better weather. Take a look at our website for photos of it. If is light, really light at 1417 empty. Titanium parts and carbon parts all over plus we left off a bunch of stuff. Take off roll with the Barrett special engine with fuel injection and 102" MT 3 blade prop is 150ft with 225lb pilot, chute, 48 gallons of gas and 35lb of baggage!!! Top speed full throttle level flight 500ft msl is 225mph. Econo cruise at 130mph on 10gph. Low normal cruise at 155mph on 12.8gph. The trip to Atlanta from here worked out to be 12.03 miles per gallon. At a typical M14 fuel burn of 15 to 16 gph, we get cruise numbers of 185-190 mph.Pretty cool machine.
