Paint on my Hiperbipe is generally in good shape. All the fabric paint is good, but showing sone wear. The main problem is the few metal parts. The primer started failing, starting with the doors. So I've got the doors and the few metal panels stripped and ready for paint.
The big issue is the lower cowl, particularly the lower part under the exhaust failed. I think the heat of the pipes got to it over the years. It started flexing up into the exhaust pipes during higher angle of attack and slow speeds. Usually just as I'd be turning final. I put a temp repair on it with some aluminum angle to stop the flexing. That worked till I could get to it.
Now I'm getting to it... Ready for Rage Gold and then I can lay some fiberglass.
I'm going to extend the bottom slightly and add a bump out at the two spots the exhaust is closest to the cowl.
Starting to see a slight delam in the wings, I'll do them this fall.
