That is my question!
I have a Hartzell A hub which just passed an eddy current inspection but the shop would not sign it off because of the AD 2001-23-08 which states it is not to be installed on aerobatic or ag aircraft.
Some IA's interpret AD's as they do not apply to experimental aircraft. Advisory Cricular AC No 39-7D says it does for certified parts on experimental aircraft unless specifically stated otherwise. This AD does not.
The most economical way would be to replace with a B hub Hartzell, around 6K. Whirlwind 10K+. MT?? Concern is with a composite prop I lose much needed weigh at the nose so I'm inclined to stick with the Hartzell.
Any comments, thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
