Looking at sheet 14 of the plans I find a basic drawing with few call outs for the Upper Wing Rear Wire Attach fitting. Not real clear on the thinking for the designer on this point. Are there any benefits to this design over the use of a lug type fitting? I was thinkng of taking some Sheet 4130 and fabricating a strap or lug about 2"-2.5" in length, drilling holes in each end to accept spar bolt on one and to accept the clevis pin on the other. Then, bend it to match deflection. I seem to recall that Pitts does it this way. Anyone depart form the plans for the fabrication of these parts?
Thanks
D
