• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hi! I have joined this forum a while ago but havn't introduced myself yet. I am fifty six years old and have been flying for about twenty six years or so. I live in Sask. Canada. I own a cessna 150L and have been flying it for over twenty years. I started my Skybolt "S" in 1991 and I am still working on it off and on. I have approx. 3500 hours in it now. I am trying to build it as light as I can and installing an IO 360 A1B engine with a 76/58 wood prop and an inverted oil system. I am going with some suggestons from Hale Wallace like a wing walk on one side only, No floor boards, Light weight alt. and starter, one bay back with aluminium, minimum instruments, PC 680 odyssey battery, GOS locking tail wheel. I am also using round slave struts and tail brace wires instead of streamlined to get away from vibration problems. I am installing the S.A.L. canopy and later will add the convertable option to open cockpit.
