I cannot view this video, apparently you now have to subscribe to YouTube in order to watch many of the videos. Dave

Well shucks. I wonder if you may need to "Open link in a new tab". I've been able to play the video without being logged into social media sites, at least on a desktop and tablet.

    Try this link:

Glad that one worked. The first link was actually to a different video hosting site; I ended up "googling" the title and found the second link!

Here are two pictures sent to me by the gentleman that built Miss Smith. His dad is pictured sometime in the fifties. He built two, sold one and kept the other. Then N number comes back to a Beech now so don't know the fate of this bird. Late 50s Smith.JPG Miles Hefner builder.JPG

Acro Bobby, Hazel Sig is still alive and lives at home. She is 96 years old I think. Her mind is still very sharp! We had a nice chat a couple of days ago.

Oh and Glen Poncho Sigafoose was killed in that Pitts doing an airshow in Centerville, Iowa. Hazel said it was a very hot day and he fell out of a snap roll on top of a loop. Hazel had a Pitts and so did Maxie Hester. Hazel sold her Pitts after Poncho's accident. Harvey Swift bought Hazel's Pitts and rebuilt it and won an award at Oshkosh a couple years ago. Here is a photo of Poncho's, Hazel's and Maxie's Pitts S1s

Nice to here Hazel is still with us. Last i knew of the family. I bought all the butyrate paint for my Acro 2. They mixed the blue for me to match the Emron I painted all the panels with. My Dads name is Robert Johannes. I grew up around Phil Kraft@ Cliff Werick. Allso Paul White. My hanger was by Pauls in Oceanside Ca. I so miss all of thease friends. They have all passed on. They were great pilots. And all very good friends for a kid to grew up around. They are truly all missed by me and many others!

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I thought it was pretty cool when I found it: The Taylor E-2 Cub that Curtis Pitts learned to fly in, and the plane he says "really taught me everything" (in the Pitts Specials book): NC15618 s/n 298, owned by N.J. Chiddix, Ocala, FL, around 1935-1936.
I have all of the US Aircraft Registries, 1929-1941, so I decided to find the plane after re-reading that part of the Pitts book.
Still trying to ID Curtis' Waco F....which the book says is an F-2, but thats unlikely because Curtis mentioned that it was a Kinner engine....which would make it an INF, a "baby F" if you will. He also had a Piper J4 that he seems to have liked a lot.
Anyway, something interesting at least to me!
