Voltage Regulator for SD-8 Alternator

Hi Guys,

just bought a SD-8 alternator for some bucks and am looking for a voltage regulator for it.

Right now I see three options which all are not 100% what I like to hear:

A) Source an old PMR1C and pay around 75 USD for an old voltage regulator plus 70 USD for the overvoltage protection kit

B) Buy the new AVC1 from B&C for around 300 USD incl. overvoltage protection kit (which B&C highly recommends over the ole PMR1C)

C) Buy a AM101406 regulator off ebay for around 20 USD. Downside for me is the wiring:

If you install an AM101406, connect as follows:
B+ goes to the main power bus through a 30 amp fuse.
The AC terminals connect to the dynamo.
Terminal "L" is for an indicator lamp.
IGW gets battery power through a switch labeled "Alternator"

This would mean, that I'd have a non switchable power wire going to the main bus all the time. I'd like to stick with the original wiring and be able to cut off the entire system with one switch. Therefore I'd route "B+" and the "IGW" wire together from the regulator to the circuit breakter, through the switch and to the main power bus. Any issues with that? Has anybody else used this voltage regulator?
