• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $29.95/year to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

I want to experiment with few different fabric systems, so before I cover a metal lawn chair or the like, I wanted to check to see if anyone had any bent/unairworthy control/tail surfaces?

Price is biggest concern, not condition. Thanks in advance.

Where are you located? I have a Dakota Hawk elevator you can have. I’m not shipping it though. I’m in eastern Pennsylvania

Sorry I left that off:

I am located in Denver CO.

No worries on no shipping; I totally understand and agree with you.

Why not use old photo frames. What are you trying to achieve?

Learning exercises only.

Having a finished <something> hanging in my hangar is more entertaining than covering a photo frame (or wooden box, or anything laying around). I am just being opportunistic as we all have tidbits in the hangar that may no longer be useful to us anymore, so I am just checking for any such items.

That flying chair is awesome!

I have a soft spot for those and AirBikes, which really are covered motorcycle frames rather than lawn chairs. :)

Check with Jamie Treat here on the forum. His shop is in Kelly Airpark just south of you and he does very nice work. Maybe he has something or could work with you.
