Hi all,
I need to buy a TIG welder for my Skybolt build and to learn on. I want to build every part of my aircraft myself no matter how long it takes and look forward to learning the skills required. Welding will be the big one as I need to become good enough to pass the CAA approved Welder test in the UK before I can weld anything on my airframe.
I am therefore looking to buy a welder that I can use to practice on while building the wing ribs etc.
I am unsure what power welder to buy though. I have decided on a R-Tech Welder and it is between a 160A and 200A AC/DC machine. Obviously the 200 is more expensive, do I need a 200 power unit or will the 160 handle everything I need to weld for the Skybolt?
Many Thanks
