    I have two computers running at the shop;

    Ft Myers Waterfront_crop small.jpg

    2012-03-11_00075_crop.jpg

    I use my own photos for my desktops. The first one is a waterfront scene in Fort Myers, the other one is an American Lady butterfly taken in our front yard.

    Sorry, no airplanes here.

    Nice pictures Bill, particularly the butterfly one.

    I'm running this on my desktop...

    And this on my iPhone.

    Second one is mine, first is from the interwebs somewhere. EDIT:Wow...the quality really degraded on the upload.

    Thanks & +1 on the image quality. I hope we're not saving room by lowering the IQ of the posted photos. Mine look much better in person.

    There's some resizing going on -- Bill, the bay picture you posted is 800x600 on the forum; Im pretty sure it was larger before it got posted :). Mine got downsized from 1900x1200 -> 800x500. Makes sense for display purposes to make it fit neatly; but what *should* happen is a thumbnail of whatever size (800 width seems like it) is displayed; and it's clickable, opening whatever the original was.

    Problem is, such 'hard' resizes on JPEGs can degrate quality quite a bit depending on what library the forum backend is using to process uploads and resize.

    I'm sure you're right but it seems the process isn't as good as it used to be. By way of an experiment I'll post my home laptop photo. I reduced it to 800x600 before uploading;

    Iris 2_small.jpg

    Looks closer to the original to my eyes. I guess re-sizing before posting is the way to go.

    BTW, these Irises grow in our wetlands and bloom for about a month every March.

    Another two that have done duty on the desktop. I tend to change it quite a bit.

    Because riding in a boat is not considered swimming ;)
