• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I have just recently returned to flying. I got tired of flying 172's. I have decided to build or purchase a biplane (golden ara style) I have bought Ragwing II plans. I think this is a long term goal. I have been looking a buying a project near completion or that has not flown for a while. I have good skills and am not afraid to repair an injured bird. The big question is: What should I be looking at. I am tall, 6" 4". I would like a 2 place. I want a Stearman, but have to be realistic, that it is out of my price range. Looking a ASII's, Skybolt, and Starduster. I have some experience with tail wheel. (170 and Cubs) The is a Citabria that I can get some more time on. I was wondering about the Marquart Charger. I don't see much info on it. I am mostly a Sunday flier and would be interested in some VERY mild aerobatics. Any commmets would be appreciated.
