• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Anyone here familiar with the Willie2? Not well known, I know. Not too many built.
But looks like a nice airplane, and I want to go and look at one. Got the biplane bug, real bad. Have a Sonex, right now, but it's for sale and I have someone coming to see it. Just gotta get this biplane thing out of my system.
One of my principle worries is the front cockpit. Appears tight. I want my wife to be able to fly with me, and I'm hoping she can get in there. Not the she's huge! She's 5'3''.
I'm only 5'6'', but when I checked out a Celebrity at Airventure 2010, I could hardly get into the front 'pit. And once in, thought I was stuck for good! Hell of a time getting out. No room at all.
I'm hoping the Willie isn't like that. It's a nice looking airplane and a damn good price. But, if it's just too tight in the front, it may be a deal breaker.
Hatz seems like a terrific airplane, too. also considering that, although the Willie is fully airbatic, with inverted fuel and oil systems. Sounds like fun.
Anyone with Willie 2 experience out there?
