Hi All,

New to the forum, new to homebuilding. I have a new set of Steen Skybolt plans. I'm a long-tine woodworker and will be building the truss-style ribs.

While searching the 'net to get rib building jig ideas, I read about how one builder (NOT a Skybolt builder) redrew his rib outline on the advice of "other builders". This prompted me to measure my rib plan sheet. Some of the printing is in fact different than the printed measurements. For example, the printed overall length of the top wing rib is 42". When I put a ruler to the sheet, the rib measures 42-3/16".

So, does one build to the plan, or redraw the rib profile to the measurements on the plan?

Thanks!
