• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

As I am struggling with trying to make my own design exhaust system. I figured I would start a new thread and show what's teasing my self worth these last couple of days.

Not only these last days but this is the third time I have attempted the exhaust build (it's exhausting me )
I know I would have trouble getting a system off the shelf this just slides right in.

So I contacted www.aircraftexhaust.net a couple of "years" ago and they sent me the kit instructions and 5 steel components.
It is up to me (my job) to shape the tubes from the exhaust stub stacks to the 4 into 1 collector.

I do this with PVC pipes from Home Depot for example.
It's not easy for this beginner because I see it as a puzzle that has not been made yet, so I am creating the puzzle as I go along. And as with all puzzles, well' you know the answer = they are puzzling!

Anyway, after I don't know how many times (3 is being lenient on myself) I have come to this. I will probable send in the photo's to A.E. Inc. and ask them for advice or direction of where to go from here. Maybe I need to rework something.

Per instructions, After I am/we are satisfied with the design, the idea is to glue the parts and ship 'em off, that they can fabricate the real thing from my pattern, in nice stainless steel.
