• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. I guess you have already looked at Barmstomers and Trade A Plane.
I guess you put this post here to find someone who is selling or
knows of one that is being sold that is not listed anywhere and they can tell you all about their Pitts.
You did not state what kind of Pitts S-1 you wanted.
Simple S-1-C with a small engine all the way up to a Super S-1-S
with all the latest mods.

I am fairly open in the type of Pitts. I am not planning on competing right now and have other aircraft as well. I am looking for a nice flying example though and not project at the moment though.

Still looking particularly in the west coast.

I had gotten one really solid lead and the seller made me wait and seemed to have changed his mind.

Any reason you want it on the west coast?

Ferrying in a nicer plane can be cheaper than getting a less-nice example locally.

Chris Schaich has his C for sale on Barnstormers. An excellent airplane with awesome history.
Ain't cheap, but the value is there.
Wish I wasn't a bottom feeder, lots of good buys around.
