So I have my Charger project!
It comes with a Lycoming O-290-D2 and no engine logs whatsoever. It's been at least several years since the engine has run. I think this will be a fine engine for the Charger and I intend to use it.
My inclination is to find a reputable engine shop, bring them the engine, and have inspect and repair as necessary. It could need a complete overhaul, or much less, I just don't know at this point.
Any advice? While I certainly do not want to blow money for the hell of it, my bias is toward an expeditious and reliable solution rather than pinching every penny.
I'm in St. Louis, MO.
